Frequently Asked Questions

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) can be thought of as a distant cousin of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. With CBD, however, it is impossible to get high. Being a member of the cannabis family, it may carry several of the same medicinal benefits typically associated with medical marijuana, including relief from both physical and mental pain. CBD can be consumed in a plethora of ways ranging from oils to topical lotions.

How Does CBD Work?

The mechanisms of CBD are not completely known to scientists. It is known to be active within the endocannabinoid system, a vast network of mechanisms throughout the body which help to regulate many processes. The cannabis family as a whole (which includes all plants producing CBD and THC) has been found to interact with this system directly and potentially provide substantial therapeutic value and relief.

What Are Cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are the primary chemical output of the cannabis plant. There are over 85 identified cannabinoids, the most well known being THC, which is known for its recreational effects. CBD is the second most well known, and unlike THC, is non-psychoactive in the same way.

What Are Terpenes?

The cannabis plant doesn’t produce only cannabinoids – it is also known for its terpenes, which are chemicals responsible for the cannabis aroma. Terpenes are universally regarded as safe by authorities such as the FDA. Terpenes are not passive – they act on neurotransmitters and can potentially provide a host of therapeutic value. Some common terpenes found in cannabis are pinene, limonene, and myrcene. There are in total over 140 terpenes that are naturally produced in cannabis.

We cannot make direct claims about whether or not our products will show up on a drug test, and cannot legally guarantee it. Our products do, however, contain less than 0.3% THC, while recreational marijuana intended to get you high can have vastly more than that – typically around 15-30%.
